Haikus for Homeschoolers

Okay, not technically for homeschoolers. Today’s collection of haikus focus on my experiences in undergrad. I’m just posting them today in honor of all the parents who are trying to figure out how to homeschool or partial homeschool their kids this fall. Basically, this is me saying, eh, don’t worry about it! They won’t remember anything you teach them, but they wouldn’t have remembered anything they learned in a classroom setting anyway.

Haikus for Homeschoolers

Written 2002-2004

1.
I am uninspired.
You can’t make me write right now.
Poems don’t like force.

2.
My parents love math.
They don’t understand how they
Raised a poet child.

3.
I don’t understand
How math can be a topic
Of conversation.

4.
Let’s tally up all
The useful classes we took.
That would be… uhm… one.
